Keyword research is definitely one of the most important steps to start your online business. Instead of assuming what people wants, you can easily find out what they really wanted by finding out what they searched for on the Internet.

Let’s side track awhile. Few years back, I read about a woman who came up with a book titled “What men knows about women”. I believe it was a thick, hard cover book. Anyway, by knowing the keywords that that are being searched for enables you to find a niche that is less competitive, it also gives you the opportunity to create a product that you know is already in demand, rather than spending time and money creating a product that you think is in demand.

Of course, the paid ones offer much more functionalities and detailed results from the search engines. Some of the top keyword research tools you can consider trying are Wordtracker (subscription based) and Keyword Elite by Brad Callen (one time payment).
