It is definitely exciting and very beneficial to the community having blog readers responding actively in your comment section, sharing their experiences and tips on how and what they would do differently to promote their blog if they were to start out from scratch all over again.
Darren Rowse of Problogger.net did just that in his recent post, and the response was, as usual, overwhelming…
Some interesting sharings which I personally agree, especially if you have limited time to promote your blog includes:
- Leverage on social networking sites for quicker traffic response
- Focus on writing quality content and submiting them to article directories
- Include proper names of authors, subject and/or topic, since some people may be searching exactly just that in search engine
- Include long tail keywork in your content
- Commenting in other people’s blog
- Become a guest blogger
- Use hosted blog instead of free ones
- Focus more on content rather than the advertising elements in your blog
