If you were living in a battered women’s shelter as a young kid, to growing up on the hard-core streets surrounded by guns and drugs, how would your life be now?

16th March 2007 was the day where over 100 people invested their time and money to be in the same room with one of the leading speaker, trainer and best selling author, [tag]Johnny Wimbrey[/tag]. And, I’m definitely sorry if you’re not there.

Even at this time, I was thinking..If I was in his past situation, would I be able to make it to who he is now?

If you do not have the chance to catch Johnny live in Singapore, I’m going to share with you some of the notes I’ve taken during the seminar. It’ll be bits and pieces of the seminar in points. I hope it inspires you as it did with me.

  1. You’re closer to next year than 5 mins ago. Why focus behind?
  2. Is it possible to be at the Right Place at the Right time? If the answer is “Yes”, do you take action?
  3. Are you winning within? If you win on the inside, it doesn’t matter what other people says
  4. Many people associate their past to dictate their future
  5. Look adversity in the eye and say “I’m here to win”
  6. Do you agree that you become a product of your environment? Johnny challenges this notion because having the same parent, the same environment, but each of his brothers has different future and lifestyles. One became a vice principle and other went to prison. Johnny changed from a young drug dealer to a successful entrepreneur
  7. Success leaves clues e.g. time, place, people, so does failure…
  8. “I refuse to settle for less, because I can have more”
  9. Information cost, but it pays for itself
  10. Major thing happen in a minor moment. If you’re in the right place at the right time, take action
  11. Repetition is mother of all skill
  12. Adversity causes some to break, but causes others to be record breaker
  13. “Who told you that??” You did!
  14. You’re greatest enemy is inside you, and only you can stop yourself
  15. You either make excuses or success, not both.
  16. You’re the author of your own story. Your response is your story
  17. Responsibility = ability to response
  18. Get Better not Bitter
  19. Work for someone if you’ve no purpose. Work with a purpose
  20. Is it possible to win? If the answer is “Yes”, then why do people choose to lose?
  21. You can judge the size of a character by the size of obstacle that it takes to overcome them
  22. When you hear something uncomfortable, you stretch
  23. 100% of every shot, never taken, never goes in
  24. You can’t experience increase, till you seek increase
  25. What’s common sense, is not commonly practiced
  26. Your inner winner starts from within
  27. Personal development industry is a $64 billion / year industry. 3% of entire world is exposed to personal development. Over 3% of americans make over $75k / year and 3% of americans has library of personal development products at home. What does this tell you? Success leaves clues…
  28. It takes 7 positive to cancel out 1 negative
  29. What the difference between 1 Million and 1 Billion? 1 million seconds is slight over 11 days while 1 billion seconds is equivalant to 33 years!
  30. Who gets paid? The speaker or the audience? What if you get paid to be a student?
